About Us
Rurie is an NGO named after Nobel Prize winning French scientist and activist Madam curie who discovered Radium and polonium. She was the first woman to ever receive a nobel prize making her the embodiment of what we want to achieve as an NGO. She questioned and challenged all pre-set boundaries and sterotypes of what a woman could accomplish in society. We find her to be an inspiration to all young girls with a similar dream. Rurie is dedicated to inspiring, promoting, and supporting the education and career aspirations of women and girls in rural communities who want to pursue careers in STEM. We wish to provide these young girls with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to achieve their full potential. At Rurie, we believe that every girl has the right to pursue her dreams and shape her own future. Join us in our mission to create a brighter future for all women and girls in rural communities.

Our Mission
Our mission is to help girls and women from rural communities develop interest in science, learn science and finally build careers in science. In order to achieve this we hope to raise enough money to provide textbooks and Lab equipment to local schools, funding for students to study in universities of their choice, as well as excursions to planetariums and observatories. we also wish to create a team of volunteers who can help us collect old books, chaperone students during excursions as well as have interactive sessions with the students.

Our vision for Rurie is to create opportunities for girls in the rural setting as well as challenge the gender stereotypes which hold them back. We strive to ensure that they have access to the resources they need to succeed. We believe in the power of education and the potential of every individual, regardless of their background. We are committed to creating an environment where every woman and girl can thrive and achieve their dreams.
